Following the choice of the use of tubes as components for my structures, after having used the styrene tubes for testing the mode of operation of the polyhedra, the aluminium tubes for the two kinetic sculptures for the interim summer show at the first year and the paper tubes made from rolled paper sheets, I found other types of material that comes already as tubes: bamboo.
I found a fence made by bamboos canes, not too tall so that the canes have already a good length in order to assemble the polyhedra.
Moreover, the sound produced from the knock between two pieces of bamboo really suits and adds a supplemental value to the sculpture, highlighting the movements.
At the end of the day, the next action to be taken is hanging the the cube made by bamboo canes in the scaffolding. To arrived to the step, I needed to pass through this process:
testing how the hang the cube and what movements it can do,
find an alternative material and try to make a polyhedron,
check the characteristics and then
collect other new material and make the final subject of this kinetic sculpture.
