My practice is concerned about kinetic sculpture as media to explore movement in Platonic solids. Having a background in Industrial design helped me to develop an interest in how mechanical systems work and how can be triggered by an electronic system. I then learned how to use Arduino, an open source electronic system, and its software IDE (Integrated Development Environment). This new tools allowed me to develop my practice between a kinetic artist and an Interaction designer, due to my interest in looking for different way to triggered kinetic sculptures, that allow a structure to move and amazed the audience. In order to make that happened, during two years research, I first explored the movement transferred from the body of the audience to the structure of a tetrahedron rising it and finally I made the kinetic structure of a cube in a way that caught the attention of the viewer, moving suddenly and keeping it as that was its own movement.
During this period of Master I expanded my knowledge about different materials and technologies, such as wood, ceramic, laser cutting, 3D printing, electronic platforms and a base in syntax for coding it, tensegrity, all necessary to make me confident as designer maker and to let me carry on my practice with kinetic sculptures or interactive installation in long term future. In the next months I will look for an internship or residency to refine my methodology and learn from expert designers and keep contacts with classmates to consider the possibility to set up a studio where working on commission or applying to exhibitions.
