The Vertical day this year was focus on collaborating between peers from 3D Design and us MA Designer Makers for organising a theatrical party, dividing us in four groups: architecture and setting the space, musical instruments, food and beverage and costumes. The colour of the post-it would have indicated the belonged group.
The group where I got in was the setting of the space. We needed to keep in mind all the other groups required and think how configurate it. The material available for all the groups was cardboard, masking tape and all the other material we got in our studios. First of all we thought people needed to sit down to watch when the costumes group would have walk in and that couldn't take too much space, so we used the chairs that were already there in another way. In addition, we divided the space and made an entrance to create the right theatrical atmosphere.
In order to emphasise that, we made costumes for us too as panels to divide the spectators' space and exhibition's space in a dynamic way, in fact we would pairs and then open at the passage of our peers.
I think because I am so interested in geometry, the panels couple I designed with Esmond had the joint part as it was composed by blocks.
The party went really good and was great to collaborate with people from different background and new ideas.
Because the space was next the 3DD studio, we had the chance to observe what they were working on and exchange opinions and feedback.
