Ameet Hindocha is a professor, graphic designer and artist, known with the name Ambipragh, who develop his practice with the exploration of the geometry, both drawing and building models.
The event started with his presentation about the use of geometry in different context, such as photography and graphic design.
After that, he show us the model he has made during his ongoing research and experimentation of geometrical shapes and his draws using geometric patterns.
At last, he lead us through the drawing of geometric figures, such as the golden section.
I am thankful to the Post-Grad Community to have hosted this event because I had the chance to be guided through the a practice part of drawing geometrical structures I haven't done anymore since I was in secondary school. Now the most of the things are done with the laptop and softwares instead of drawing by hands, but doing it the comprehension is total. Most of the mathematical theories are demonstrated by drawing them, so it was an important passage to do.
I also had the chance to observe, touch and play with other construction of polyhedra and in particular in the orange one he make me notice that two Platonic solid could be seen, because they are duals ( where the vertices of one solid correspond to faces of another one, and edges correspond to each other).
