- 1 day to the great day!
Our efforts after months become real and take shape but we still don't know how visitors will engage with it. We will see it soon.
The first to be set were the column making station to start to make the 4 coffee and clay columns, the displays for the information and the supports for the columns.
As we set also the coffee tasting station and the feedback panels, the making station moved in another corner where we would have left it with the tools in case we needed to fix something. Visual instructions and the installation centre, the coffee pit, were set too.
Even if a simple and apparently not important (for the function of the installation) part such as the coffee pit needed to be designed , because after all it is important from a visual point of view and could affect the look of the installation and attract the curiosity of the people.
After few tries the shapes was decided.
Finally the last column was made. Such a great emotion to see everything ready, and without having bad surprises. Fingers cross for he coffee and clay columns to not crumble during the night!
After having all set, have a meeting to clarify how to organize what the different duties were, what station were at, was indispensable and how to get people involve was fundamental to review the idea after all the station:
the entrance welcoming people, the information display plus video with playlist about coffee farmer, harvest and distribution; the introduction at the coffee block making points distributing the cards for the stamps (the most difficult because it was required to explain the concept behind the installation); the coffee taste station brewing the two types of coffee; the sweeping area around the columns and to avoid people step on the coffee pit.
