Hsiu-chi and Bansi were the third couple to present their seminar. The title was The awareness of Digital technology and Mechanism apparatus. They confronted between each other, giving examples and come pros and cons. As activity, they run a discussion diving us all in 4 groups, who support technology, who is against it, and the other two but about mechanism apparatus and support own group in a debate.
It was interesting for me refresh and hear what my classmates think and see the two topics because I am using them for my practice but in parallel, because mechanic system is essential and used to make the digital technology works and so does the kinetic sculpture. At the end, we highlighted what I believe, that the digital technology is fragile because is not in the real word but in a virtual words which is supported by mechanic system in the real life.
Zherong and I were the fourth couple to present the seminar.

We did a research about how music affects our emotion and how we can perceive and foresee different situations related to the sound or music is there at the moment.
We asked to our classmates to make 4 groups, think about a story with 2 or 3 emotions expressed in it and choose a piece of music that could be suitable in their opinion. After that, they needed to tell the story playing the sounds while the other classmates would have say of the music chosen make them feel the same emotion. I noticed everyone preferred to use their smartphone instead of try to use the few instrument we had in studio, such as small guitar, ukulele and kalimba. It could be because they didn't know how to play them.
We noticed that some music expressed a felling common for everyone, like sadness or happiness, but others could be interpreted slightly differently, like anxious or terrifying.
Once we finished our seminar, I wish I had prepare a worksheet to distribute to my classmates to fill it while they were listening the music, in order to have feedback from everyone without ask them to say it aloud, and to confront at the end. I realized I should also push the situation to the point critical point, which is where the subtle different shades of emotions are to feel in order to explore them better, developing more the workshop we did.
