For new tests on movement I wanted to do some test with simple machines, this time with wheels, whichI got from disassembled printer. In order to do that, I needed a base where to put them and let the roll. I regretted the time I haven't thought to keep some group of them together because I didn't have a sure starting point. Because of that I took the chance to do something I wanted to but because I didn't have a real purpose I haven't yet: make something in the metal workshop.
I thought then to make a metal mash to use as support to put my wheels on so use a machine that weld the metal wires.
Because it is not a whole surface so I don't need to make holes where to set the axe where wheel would be fixed, it really let me freedom to choose where attached the wheel and remove it and change spot easily.
Oscar question me why I wanted to use wheels, if I really wanted to use them. That make me reconsider if my test was worth it. Therefore I show him the websites of the two artists who used part of machineries to assemble new kinetic sculptures and that was a starting point to develop my own too.
He told me it should be better start from what kind of movement I wanted and then think how to get it. So I needed to take a step back and think about the purpose of research and test movement. Still, "movement" is a broad field... I need to define better my area of focus in that. I recalled the project I did and found a common theme to use it to go on as direction. How did I make my sculptures move before? What did I used for it? Arduino connected with sensor and motor where a discover and tools I want to keep using to move my works. Oscar suggested me where to find some more powerful motor in case I wanted to go bigger size this time.
But I will definitely make together wheels on the metal mesh, just to fulfill my desire to do it as exercise.
