As current plan, I will make a video to show how my sculpture work, get triggered by the viewer (at least one) and how it behave and the different movements. Because it needs a physical input, I can't add a remote to trigger it, as I got inspired by Oscar's tips about Stelarc work and consequently looking at Arduino projects which used bluetooth or wireless technology. I would loose the sudden surprise that the audience get while accidentally trigger my kinetic sculpture. If I could program a remote controller from a website as Stelarc did (available at: http://stelarc.org/reclining-stickman.php ), people would use it just to set movements as a choreography, but it isn't what I like the viewer does. Oscar then told us that based on the principle to achieve, there are different parameters to solve"how" make our project work: our skills, economic, technical (what we can access to) and material. It really synthesize how the take decisions are made.
About presenting our works, he remember us that is important think how and what we want to communicate with our projects.
If I think about my kinetic sculptures, if the social interaction was more important before, because it permitted me to test and see what worked and what I needed to adjust or develop, now the sculpture and how is capable of engage the audience is my focus.
